Would like to say what an amazing thing this is opening a centre. As a dementia carer for 8 years this would have been a god send to me and my family. I have known Rosie professionally for 9 years, she was my Dad’s mental health nurse and I would not have got through that time without her, she was there for me and my family 24/7. I have rang her at bad times and nothing was too much trouble she is so caring, lovely and supportive not only to the patient but to their family’s too. We could not have coped without Rosie.
Based in the heart of Kirkby, Knowsley, the Me2u Centre is a place where people living with dementia can feel at home in a safe and stimulating environment. Offering opportunities for social prescribing, we’re a community-based, person-centred service.
We provide respite care and companionship for just an hour or two or throughout the day, as required. Visitors to our centre will receive breakfast and lunch as well as drinks and snacks.
There is an onsite hairdresser or barber, a cinema room, private consultation rooms for health visitors and a wet room. We also offer a wide range of activities including gardening and flower arranging, art and craft, board games and singalongs.
Carers can take advantage of our holistic therapy sessions and carer support groups as well as expert advice on dementia care and diagnoses. In addition, we’re CQC-registered to provide domiciliary care to those above and below 65 years.
