The Me2u Centre provides an enjoyable, bright and homely centre, which caters for the individual needs of the clients and their carers.

Based in the heart of Kirkby, Knowsley, the Me2u Centre is a place where people living with dementia can feel at home in a safe and stimulating environment. Offering opportunities for social prescribing, we’re a community-based, person-centred service.

We provide respite care and companionship for just an hour or two or throughout the day, as required. Visitors to our centre will receive breakfast and lunch as well as drinks and snacks.

There is an onsite hairdresser or barber, a cinema room, private consultation rooms for health visitors and a wet room. We also offer a wide range of activities including gardening and flower arranging, art and craft, board games and singalongs.

Carers can take advantage of our holistic therapy sessions and carer support groups as well as expert advice on dementia care and diagnoses. In addition, we’re CQC-registered to provide domiciliary care to those above and below 65 years.

People visiting our centre can make use of the following facilities:

Location

The Me2u Centre is based in the heart of Kirkby, Knowsley. It is located within a 5-10 minute walk from Kirkby train station and is within walking distance of the town centre. The centre is easily accessible from Liverpool and the surrounding areas.

Activities

Our aim is to offer a stimulating and positive environment for attendees. This is achieved through our excellent provision of activities, including the following:

  • activities and exercise programmes;
  • group discussions such as reminiscing activities;
  • gardening and flower arranging;
  • arts and crafts sessions;
  • a range of board games;
  • bingo;
  • sing-alongs;
  • themed days;
  • cinema room.

The Cost

  • A standard six-hour day will cost £90 per day (inclusive of transport and meals) and a half day costs £54.
  • Breakfast and lunch are included in the daily cost. Evening meals can be prepared to take home or have at the centre for £4.
  • Shower facilities are available for community residents and carers to access at a cost of £16 per usage.
