A big thank you is due to the wonderful Mr Tony McGann and Eldonian Community who hosted a benefit for Me2U Centre last Saturday and helped raise £3,500 towards our centre.
It was a great night out with live music, raffles, dancing and entertainment plus a fantastic speech from the Lord Mayer of Liverpool, Cllr Peter Brennan, who described our founders’ efforts as “heroic” and lamented the fact that the government isn’t doing more to support ventures such as Me2U Centre who our society depends on for quality person-centred social care.
Me2U Centre is a self-funded, relying on support from donors to provide a wide range of facilities and services as well as to train and hire care staff who help create and sustain a home-from-home experience to those living with dementia.
If you missed the event, do not despair, as the Eldonians have kindly offered to host future benefit nights for the next few years. We’ll soon be publishing an events calendar so you can save the dates.
Check out the video of the night.
